Today is National Bookstore Day. I plan to visit the nearest independent bookstore and buy a book or two. I buy from all different sources but I understand the importance of the small independent shops. I know times are tough for buyers as well as sellers and these days of price wars aren't easy. So, today I'm going to champion the "little guy" and buy from Next Chapter Book Shop. Click the logo to visit their website.

I try to drop into the BookNook, an independent store in my town whenever I can. We have a big box book store, but this one has a very intimate feel about it. I like to stop in have a tea and browse. .I try to give every bookseller I know a little bit of my book buisness.
yay for bookstore day! i'm a follower now!
Great! I just bought a book at a indepentant bookstore. :) Yippee to them.
Oh darn it! Forgot that this was today! Thanks for the reminder. One of my independent bookstores will be getting some business from me on Tuesday at an author event though. I, too, try to give business to the independent stores as well.
Kathleen, the Book Nook sounds like a nice shop. I like a place where you can relax with a cup of tea : )
Cindy, thanks for following!
Nina, Yay!!
PolishOutlander, I'm sure the indie will be just as happy to have your business on Tuesday : ) Which author will be there?
What a great way to celebrate! And if I had known this, I would have used it as excuse to buy some books too -- I have to come up with creative justifications nowadays!
